About us:

Sydney Multicultural Community Services(MCS)  is one of the leading Community based Not for Profit organisation and a newly established Registered Training Organisation (RTO 45325) specialising in Community Services training and Service provision for people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Backgrounds (CALD). We deliver services in Aged Care, NDIS, Parents Next, Migrant and refugee settlement and number of community inclusion programs. We are one of the 21 consortium members of the NSW Settlement Partnership (NSP) covering a range of community services programs in over more than 16 languages for Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, Sydney City, Inner West region and the Lower Northshore areas.

Position:

An exciting full time opportunity has become available for Disability Services Coordinator to work in NDIS services in Sydney Multicultural Community Services. 

This is a challenging position with excellent prospects for career growth and will be supported and working alongside a well-established team. This role will suit someone with a can do attitude from a customer service background. Your main role will be allocation and rostering of care workers to NDIS participants to ensure a smooth delivery of supports and services. However, certain flexibility will be expected to support the Home Care Packages program staff to ensure effective coordination and partnership with key internal and external stakeholders.

You will assist NDIS participants in linking to innovative and creative support services and will need to have excellent time management and analytical skills to manage care worker absences and shift changes. You will also be a great team player to work alongside Sydney MCS staff in contributing towards providing feedback and innovation in service delivery and operations.

Core duties:

• Matching appropriate care workers to NDIS participants for appropriate care services
• Ensure high quality services are maintained at all times
• Support and supervise Care workers in their professional development
• Support recruitment of Care workers including orientation, induction and training needs.
• Conduct timely team meetings with Care workers to identify service delivery issues, gaps and opportunities
• Investigate, record and report NDIS participant and care workers complaints, incidents and feedback

Selection Criteria:

• Minimum Certificate IV in Disability (Or Equivalent) and/or experience
• Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
• Previous industry experience in a similar role involving rostering and scheduling
• High level of awareness of issues effecting the disability, aged care and community health sectors
• Excellent customer service and communication skills with a problem solving approach.
• Strong technology skills and be confident with the Microsoft Office suite of tools and rostering software.
• High level of attention to detail including developing plans, reports.
• Experience in coordinating a multi-disciplinary team with strong relationship building skills.
• Current working with children check
• Current and clear criminal history check
