THE ROLE
We are currently searching for an Intake Officer to join our team based in Warabrook, Newcastle. The primary responsibility of this role is to record and assess all matters received into the Complaints and Investigations team. You will focus heavily on:
- Identifying immediate risk to internal and external stakeholders when a complaint is received;
- Developing mitigating risk strategies and implementing into an appropriate risk management plan;
- Developing plans for complaint handling at service levels in line with relevant Acts and legislation, overseeing the report process and making recommendations for final sign off;
- Preparing Part A documentation in line with the Ombudsman Act 1974; and
- Providing administration support to the wider Complaints team.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Highly organised and analytical, you successfully review information, identify risks, put together plans and oversee through to resolution. You will have advanced communication, interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills to foster productive relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. This, along with your attention to detail and passion for helping people will see you be successful in this role.

THE ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Significant experience in Intake Officer, or similar role;
- Experience in a child protection role, or similar role in the OOHC or disability sector;
- Ability to analyse, classify and appropriately respond to information in a timely manner;
- Understanding of child protection laws, reporting requirements and best practices in NSW;
- Advanced level of report writing and record keeping;
- Strong relationship building skills.
