Casual Residential Youth Worker

  • 7 day roster (penalty rates on nights and weekend shifts)
  • East Perth and Carlisle Location

About the role

DAYS Youth Withdrawal and Respite is a 2 to 3 week program for young people between 12 and 21 years old with AOD substance misuse. The program uses a harm minimisation approach and allows clients to participate in a day program which offers; anger management, sexual health, harm reduction groups and a range of services such as psychology, medical and recreational activities

Duties:

  • Inducting clients to the service
  • Supporting clients toward the achievement of their casework goals
  • Providing guidance and education as required
  • Ensuring safe storage and distribution of client medication
  • Ensuring client records are kept up to date

Qualifications & experience:

  • Relevant Degree or TAFE Diploma and/or
  • Relevant experience with adolescents
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Working with Children Card
  • "C" Class drivers' license

 

The successful applicant will be required to provide proof they have a current Working with Children check, or apply for one if they do not already hold one. The successful applicant will also undertake other relevant background checks as required (including a criminal history check, and reference checks)
