Casual Child Care Educators and Early Childhood Teachers

This is a perfect opportunity for Certificate III Qualified and early childhood trained teachers to join one of the leaders in early childhood education. Working alongside our educators at the centre your focus will be in supporting the team in providing an inclusive education for all children.

Opportunities exist in the Blue Mountains region on a casual basis with a view to potentially pick up contracted hours at the centre for suitable educators as well as access to extra hours of work over the week should you wish.

Our Centres

With a number of services in the Blue Mountains and greater west region, we have services such as KU Bilya Gulyangarri, KU Penrith, KU Hebersham, KU Shalvey Preschool and KU Faulconbridge Children's Centre.  You will enjoy being part of a fun loving, thriving hub whose passionate team care for children aged 0 to 5 years old with an emphasis on an inclusive environment where children feel like they belong and are encouraged to play, discover and learn. This position would suit someone who loves driving to work and has access to a car.

The impact you’ll have

  • work as a member of a co-operative team, in order to provide an appropriate educational program for the children within her/his care.
  • ensure that up to date records are maintained for each child under that person’s care.
  • ensure that the policies of KU and the funding authorities are implemented in providing appropriate care and educational programs for children.

What we’re looking for? 

We want you to be as passionate about early childhood education and as committed to achieving positive outcomes as we are. In addition you will have:

  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Work rights to enable you to work in Australia
  • Experience in working with children with additional needs will be highly regarded
  • Recognised Certificate III in Children’s Services for our Child Care Educators and a Degree in early childhood for our Early Childhood teachers or similar as approved by Australian Children’s Education and Quality Authority (ACECQA)
  • Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011)
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF)(VEYLF)
  • Professional level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Current knowledge of Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills
