Salary Level A: $70,155 per annum (pro-rata if part-time)
Salary Level B: $98,229 per annum (pro-rata if part-time)
(plus 12% Super and 17.5% Leave Loading)
The School of Philosophy and Theology, Sydney, seeks to appoint an Associate Lecturer, Philosophy (Core Curriculum)/Lecturer Philosophy (Analytic Philosophy). This need can be filled by either one full-time candidate or two half-time candidates. The successful candidate(s) will teach a 0.5 FTE load in Analytic Philosophy, including subjects such as Formal Logic and Critical Thinking. They will also be able to contribute to courses such as Philosophy of Language and Philosophy of Science.
Teaching in the undergraduate Core Curriculum (Logos Programme) requires an understanding of and commitment to the Catholic intellectual tradition. The candidate will teach Philosophy and Ethics modules to undergraduate students in various programmes across the Sydney Campus, with the knowledge that the programme as a whole engages with the relationship between faith and reason. Expertise within the Catholic intellectual tradition, in keeping with Ex Corde Ecclesiae and the sapiential vision described in Fides et Ratio is a highly desired quality for the successful candidate for teaching in the Core Curriculum.
This position is based at the Broadway site of the Sydney Campus and reports to the Dean, School of Philosophy and Theology.
