St Stephen’s  School is seeking applications for two newly created roles of Head of Campus Carramar and Duncraig to lead the teaching and learning, pastoral and co-curricular activities of the school to the highest level.

Reporting to, and deputising for, the Principal, the Head of Campus will be responsible for the delivery of contemporary pedagogy and student well-being programs, whilst ensuring a safe, stimulating and challenging environment. Providing leadership in both the strategic and operational day-to-day matters, as well as enabling quality and excellence in spearheading improvements and continuous innovation are key aspects of this role.

The successful candidate will be a strong and experienced leader, with the recognised ability to operate across a whole of school environment. The appointee will display exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with an engaging approach and the ability to inspire trust and acceptance from a range of stakeholders. With outstanding organisational skills and a practical approach, the successful candidate will be a progressive thinker, results driven, analytical and inspirational. The ideal candidate will possess values which support the ethos and faith of the school and a genuine desire to be part of a thriving school community.

The position of Head of Campus, is offered as a 4 year fixed term contract.  The initial appointment is for a 4-year period and may be extended by mutual agreement and subject to meeting performance criteria for additional periods of up to 4 years.

SELECTION CRITERIA (Each point to be addressed)

  • A proven ability to provide leadership and fulfil all aspects of a senior management role with responsibility for the management and development of staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to advise and liaise across all levels of the campus and School.
  • To develop effective and harmonious relationships with parents, guardians and the wider community.
  • The capacity for strategic planning and thinking and well-developed analytical and research skills.
  • High level public speaking and presentation skills and ability to coordinate and facilitate meetings and forums to achieve agreed outcomes and objectives.
  • An experienced educator with sound understanding of the curriculum and the academic needs of students.
  • An awareness of current trends in education (including the AITSL standards).
  • Ability to meet the Schools targets and deadlines.
  • This role requires high levels of organisation and communication (written and spoken) skills.
  • Willingness to positively and actively contribute to the Christian culture of the School.
  • Registration as a Teacher with the Teacher Registration Board of West Australian (TRBWA), which includes a National Police Check.
