The School of Psychology at UNSW is located in the Faculty of Science and has approximately 40 academic staff, 1600 undergraduate students and 150 postgraduate students. The school earns more competitive research funding and publishes more Tier 1 journal articles per academic than any other School in Australia. About the role
- $73K-$98K plus 9.5% Superannuation and annual leave loading
- Fixed Term August 2019
- Full-time 35 hours per week
The role of the Postdoctoral Fellow is to contribute to the research activities of the Cognition Lab of the School of Psychology, specifically those activities funded by the ARC Discovery Project Grant, “Learning and choosing in a complex world”. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to contribute to the production of research output by publishing in high-quality international journals and will work on experimental and cognitive modelling approaches to the study of decision making.
About the successful applicant
To be successful in this role you will:
- Completion, or close to completion of a PhD in Psychology, Cognitive Sciences, Decision Sciences or related disciplines
- Demonstrated expertise in experimental design and statistical analysis
- Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality project outcomes in a timely manner
- Demonstrated experience in conducting research, including preparing manuscripts, abstracts and grants and presenting research activities at seminars and conferences
- Strong computational skills
- High level analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of judgment and decision-making literature is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to the training of Research Assistants
- Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training
