Hermes Music Academy is hiring staff.

We are looking for:

A Contemporary Vocal Coach / Singing / Electric and Acoustic Guitar / Bass / Beginner to Intermediate Keyboard / Piano Teacher.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled, energetic teacher who shares our passion of giving as many students as possible the opportunity to experience and enjoy music all within a fun exciting environment.

We are open 7 days a week and our teaching is available to students 5 days a week.

At Hermes Music Academy, our vision is to guide our clients towards achieving their musical goals and to help them along every step of the way. From buying their first instrument and learning how to play, to playing in a band and performing live through to recording their music. Our Music Complex in Melbourne includes a Music Store, Rehearsal Studios, Recording Studio, PA Hire, Repairs and Music Lessons program. Our Music Lessons program currently caters to over 100+ students ranging in age from 5yo to 65yo and from Absolute Beginners to Advanced (professional musicians).

Position Summary

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and experienced Vocal Coach / Singing / Electric and Acoustic Guitar / Bass / Beginner to Intermediate Keyboard / Piano Teacher, with a warm and bubbly personality to be part of our growing and dynamic music school.

We are essentially looking for one person who can teach Guitar/Acoustic Guitar, Bass, Singing/Vocals and Keyboard/Piano. This may be one or more positions depending on the applicants.

Hours of Lessons are currently between 2pm-9pm Monday-Friday.

Annual earnings for the position is AU$ 55.000.

Duties and Responsibilities

• To deliver high-quality tuition to individuals and small groups.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with students and parents.
• Able to perform and participate in workshops, concerts and other sessions.
• To be able to complete student reports and report to management your student progress.

• At least three years of experience as a music teacher is required, and the ideal candidate must have the ability to teach guitar, piano, bass, and singing.

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for teachers with the following experience and qualifications:

• Tertiary qualifications in music or great understanding self-taught.
• A high level of expertise on their instrument (ability to teach more than one instrument is an advantage).
• Experience with teaching students of a wide range of ages and levels – young children to adults, beginner to advanced.
• Hold a current Working With Children Check.
• Police background check.

Qualities
 

• Applicant should be responsible well organized and well presented.
• A warm, bright, passionate, patient and approachable personality towards young children and parents.
• Good communication skills with young students and parents.
• Excellent communication, organisational and team player skill.
• Have an effective method in teaching their instrument which produces good results.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Ability to collaborate with other staff and teachers.
• Ability to teach and stimulate junior students. Experience of working with children is highly preferred.
• Solid music background is highly regarded.
• Knowledge of Jazz, Bossa-Nova and Italian music will be an advantage.
• Experience with studio recording will be an advantage.
• Fluently speaking of English is essential.
• Flexibility is essential.
• Basic office skills with MS Office and Excel.
• Can-do working attitude.
• Mentoring and inspiring other educators by leading quality practice.
