A unique and exciting opportunity exists for an Early Childhood Educator who is ready to take their passion to the next level and contribute significantly to the growth, wellbeing and development of the children in the Alekarenge Family Centre located in Ali Curung NT, approximately 170km South from Tennant Creek, surrounded by natural raw beauty, aboriginal culture and wildlife. The Successful applicant will enjoy an above market salary package, with accommodation heavily subsidised readily available to move straight in to. You will also enjoy additional incentives including:
- Fixed Hours Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4pm
- Superannuation
- 17.5% Leave loading
- 5 Weeks Annual Leave
- Remote allowance of $1092 per year
- Complimentary return travel and accommodation for your leisure from Ali Curung to Alice Springs or Tennant Creek every two months
The Centre provides high quality education based childcare services to the families of the Ali Curung community. The program facilitates activities designed to enhance early childhood learning based on the needs and interest of the children, including the cultural, physical, social, emotional, language and learning development needs.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing strong relationships with the children at the service
- Developing strong relationships that support and partner with families and the community
- Model and support educators to utilise a variety of teaching strategies including intentional teaching and reflective practice in daily work.
- Maintaining professional relationships with all clients, stakeholders and CatholicCareNT staff.
- Fostering a collaborative relationship with key stakeholders and services
- Create a safe, supportive and informative environment for families
To be successful you must have the following skills and attributes:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to collaborate with other services.
- Demonstrated cultural competency and understanding of life on a remote Aboriginal community.
- Compassion, empathy, sense of justice and tolerance
- Ability to work within a culture and values framework
- Team player with ability to work with others in a spirit of trust, respect, reflection and accountability
- You must either hold a Certificate III or a Diploma in Early Childhood Education
