Council’s Community Care Services Branch is seeking an enthusiastic person to fill the full time position of Child Care Assistant Educator.
Position Objectives
The officer will be responsible for:
- Providing a high quality Early Childhood Program/ Curriculum that is delivered in a safe, secure, welcoming and nurturing environment for the children and families of the Playalong Early Learning Centre, in accordance within the National Quality Regulations Law and Standards and the policy guidelines established by Mildura Rural City Council.
- Ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all children within the centre and ensuring children are protected and their rights are upheld at all times.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of the program planned for the children in accordance with the National and State Early Years Frameworks.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of an integrated early childhood service.
- Contributing to the development of a culture that values and actively uses collaboration, reflective practice and feedback as tools to improve performance.
- Working in accordance with the Code of Ethics of Early Childhood Australia.
Qualifications and Experience
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:
- Centre based child care experience.
- Certificate III in Children’s Services or an equivalent qualification.
- Senior first aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Training certificate.
- Ability to work as part of a child care team.
Salary and Conditions
The position is classified within Band 3 of the Victorian Local Authorities Award 2001 commencing at $54,532.40 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
