Role overview

This role is located at the RAAF Base Amberley, and will report directly to the CAE KC-30A Lead Instructor - Amberley.

The successful candidate will perform analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training solutions for existing CAE projects and/or new training business opportunities. This includes configuration management of training systems (courseware, artefacts and hardware), internal/external evaluations and training service support/reporting.

Detailed Responsibilities

Courseware and Training Materials

• Conduct analysis, design, development and evaluation of CAE managed courseware or training materials.
• Perform training analysis, competency mapping, course design, development and accreditation.
• Perform training system health checks and training administrative tasks.
• Manage the configuration all courseware and associated materials associated a Multimedia Integrated Training System (MITS).

Subject Matter Expert

• Provide specialist training advice on training processes, training systems and emerging training technologies to internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide specialist training advice at stakeholder meetings.

Training Support Services

• Ensure stakeholders are aware of emerging/potential issues/risks relating to training system activities.
• Provide management with feedback on customer satisfaction, expectations and requirements.
• Produce monthly training statistics and reports.
• Provide User training on training system devices.
• Deliver site specific training as directed.

Education and Experience

It is essential that applicants possess, as a minimum, Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE40110) and have experience in maintaining and supporting this qualification.

CAE will consider candidates with:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in training design and development. (Military aviation environment preferred)
• Demonstrated understanding of Australian Defence Force training policies and procedures (e.g. Defence Training Model).
• Knowledge and understanding of the ADDIE model and Risk Management.
• Experience working within the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF).
• Extensive knowledge of computer-based learning training development activities.

Applicants will also need to be able to demonstrate:

• Ability to lead, support and motivate peers by using strong leadership (“leads by example”) and people management skills.
• High level Interpersonal skills (internal and external customers).
• Excellent written & oral communication skills, including technical writing.
• Attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint.

Note: As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
