A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Coordinator at our service providing child care for students of Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) located at Hornsby TAFE NSW campus.

The role

We are looking to appoint a Coordinator who is highly organised, confident and has the ability to effectively lead a small team of educators to provide care and education to children from culturally diverse backgrounds. The service is funded to provide care and education to children of students learning English Language at the TAFE NSW Campus.

The position is to be part time five days per week Monday - Friday during the TAFE NSW term times. The hours of the position are 8:30am – 3:30pm. This position is offered on a contract period until June 2023.

Duties

  • Provide a program of activities based on children’s interests and emotional and social wellbeing
  • Support children and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Monitor the environment for risks and follow Gowrie NSW policies and procedures to provide a safe environment for children, staff and families
  • Manage a high performing team of educators
  • Lead a culture of quality improvement around the program and practice  
  • Operate within a budget

Skills & Experience

Essential requirements for these positions are:

  • Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Education
  • New Working with Children Check
  • National Police check
  • Current approved first aid certificate and CPR
  • Current approved anaphylaxis and asthma management certificates
  • Experience working with children and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Experience leading a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Open to learning, clear communicator and well organised
  • Some understanding of circle of security would be an advantage
