Employment Specialist
The Employment Specialist is accountable for ensuring the Group Training Company service is responsive, qualitative, and cost effective in meeting the demands of the Northern Territory Industry and Australian Apprentices.
The Employment Specialist will assist with the implementation and monitoring of contract arrangements in accordance with the Host Employer's contract requirements. This position will be responsible for monitoring Apprentices in the remote regions of the Northern Territory.
If you enjoy working in remote communities and are passionate about training and development of local Territorians, this position will provide you with the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, travel throughout the Northern Territory and personally contribute back to the local community.
To be successful the applicant must:
- Have completed or progress towards completing Certificate IV or higher in Business (Employment Services) and/or subsequent relevant experience in related field.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and liaise with a diverse client group.
- Commitment to achieve high quality outcomes and customer service to clients (internal and external).
- High level of motivation, enthusiasm and display initiative.
- Ability to work efficiently as a member of a small team and independently in a client focused area.
- Ability to be systematic in approach to work, comply with relevant guidelines, procedures, deadlines and demonstrate initiative.
- Have the capacity to meet tight deadlines, conflicting deadlines and heavy workloads.
- Demonstrated understanding in the use of information technology, particularly with the use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated ability and preparedness to travel throughout NT regional areas for extended periods.
- Knowledge of Vocational Education and Training in Australia, the relevant legislation of Governments and Industrial Relations system.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply and will be given priority consideration and preference in selection for this vacancy if they meet all essential selection criteria.
Knowledge of the Australian Apprenticeship System and previous experience working with the indigenous culture and remote communities will be an advantage.

The Employment Specialist must possess a manual Northern Territory driver's licence.
The Employment Specialist must possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card) prior to employment.
