About the business
This small beautiful centre (15 positions) is based in a lower north shore prime location, 5 minutes from the train station. The centre is planning a material refurbishment with a modern and sophisticated design, upgrading both indoor and outdoor facilities and using consultant to improve curriculums. With the focus on creating a caring and creative environment, the centre believes in providing all educators with professional development opportunities.
About the role
Fulltime/part time Centre Director with teaching roles who will oversee the operation and provide leadership ensuring high quality education and care provision. Sepcifically:
- Lead and develop a team of up to 4~5 staff, providing internal and external mentoring and training as required
- Undertake new parent enquiries/tours/orientations
- Increase community presence and improve/maintain occupancy. Similarly, the company is looking for a strong leader who is keen to have autonomy over the centre
- Assist in daily teaching/educating tasks
- Staff recruitment
- Responsible for all compliance with relevant laws and educational frameworks,
- Administrative duties
- National Standards, including the NQF are met and exceeded.
- All WH&S principles and processes are adhered to and managed effectively to ensure a safe place of work.
As an Education Leader/2IC you will lead by example, supporting your team in delivering a creative and emergent curriculum.
We also train up our Educational Leader to become our next Centre Director/Nominated Supervisors. This is an exciting opportunity to take the next step and for someone who wants the training and support to progress their career into a Centre Director/Nominated Supervisor role.
- Nurturing and caring for the 2- 6 years old children in the centre
- Be confident and passionate about mentoring and supporting staff on the floor
- Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate and stimulating programs.
- Responsible for the direction and support of other Educators within the centre.
- Ensure a safe environment is maintained for both Educators and Children.
- Ensure that records are maintained accurately for each child in their care.
- Develop, implement and evaluate daily care routines.
- Ensure the centres policies and procedures are adhered to;
- Liaise with families around all aspects including accounts.
- Centre Administration and centre HR functions in absence of the centre director/manager
Both roles:
- Create a safe, fun, warm and welcoming environment
- Develop, implement & evaluate a curriculum that fits the needs, interests and strengths of each child in conjunction with staff and families
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with families and parents

Skills and experience
- Diploma or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent
- ACECQA approved First Aid Qualification that includes applying first aid, emergency asthma management and anaphylaxis
- Working with children check
- Nurturing and approachable nature
- A track record of developing and motivating a team
- Ability to engage with and foster strong relationships with family and other stateholders
- In-depth knowledge of the EYLF, NQF/NQS
- Knowledge of Workplace Safety & Health
- Computer literacy
