ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join the Melbourne Burwood Deakin Residential Services team in the role of Campus Life Coordinator. The position is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering social engagement, community building, personal development and academic support programs and events that promote and strengthen a positive respectful residential community. This role also has a direct impact on the living and learning experience of our residents.
Programs are delivered and available at times of the day that suit residents, so flexibility in working hours will be required at times. Our residential service operates 24 hours a day 52 weeks a year.
This role has a strong focus on resident support, event management, administration and reporting within compliance expectations, as well as a strong focus on the value of mentorship for all residents.
This will include:
- Recruiting, facilitating and training resident volunteers and managing the associated program.
- Facilitating, overseeing and assisting with student led and delivered events, activities and campaigns (social, recreational, learning and sporting events).
- Assisting and participating in activities and functions within Residential Services and the University.
- Providing high quality advice and support on matters relating to the residential student experience.
- Mentoring and meeting with residents to discuss welfare, behavioural issues and/or other concerns in a supportive manner.
- Ensuring and managing compliance of residents to meet residential expectations of behaviour and conduct.
- Preparing accurate and concise reports and documentation required ensuring compliance with internal and external policies.
