Yarraville Community Centre has been operating in the Maribyrnong area since 1975. YCC delivers the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) and the Skills for Education & Employment (SEE) Program for Learning for Employment in Maribyrnong, Skills First and ACFE pre-accredited programs. We are a not-for-profit community based organisation committed to assisting people to learn English, Literacy computer and other skills for life, further education and to gain employment.
Based in Footscray or Yarraville teachers will be:
- Responsible for quality teaching and assessing
- This includes delivering classes and providing support to students
- Conducting and reporting assessments
- Delivering programs to culturally and linguistically diverse communities
Mandatory qualifications and experience for teaching EAL
- Knowledge EAL frameworks (EAL) and the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF)
- A teaching qualification plus a recognized specialist post-graduate qualification in TESOL and at least 100 hours of teaching English as a Second Language
- A Police check no more than 6 months old or, VIT registration, or a working with children check.
