Working for a leading Online University, your role will be to work with students to assist in removing barriers and help them overcome challenges.

Starting from a working list of identified "at risk" students, you will be making outbound calls in campaign mode.

Once connected, you will work to engage and build rapport. Your ultimate goal is to unpack whatever challenge or barriers the student is facing. From there, it is all about real life, practical solutions to fix or alleviate the problems. On top of this, you will also work to refocus or reconnect the student to their original education goals.

At its' heart, this is a retention role, so previous experience within a contact centre retention role would be applicable. The fundamental difference would be that rather than simply offering a "better deal", you are problem solving, mentoring and even motivating.

Now, as I said, the focus here is focused on practical solutions. Whilst it will draw on some of the principles of coaching, counselling and psychology, in nature it will have more similarities to a  coaching role. Or, as a more experienced, seasoned student might help a younger, less experienced student. You know, the person you went to when you had a head scratcher and needed a wise head.

To be considered qualified you must have studied yourself, with a completed bachelors degree being considered the minimum requirement. Additionally, phone based support experience is also a pre-requisite.
