ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be accountable for providing professional teaching and vocational expertise, across all aspects of delivery, planning and performance to ensure excellent outcomes for learners, the organisations that employ them and the communities they serve.

This position focuses on excellence in learner support, teaching delivery and learning assessment, resource development and educational administration for a number of new and long term projects.

Your key accountabilities will be to:

  • Plan education practices and delivery sessions that reflect the most effective way to engage learners
  • Develop and deliver planned teaching sessions in a variety of innovative and adaptive ways, using technology, including Moodle, to engage learners and  meet their needs and learning styles
  • Design and develop teaching and learning resources including tailored materials in a range of formats to suit varying project requirements and learning styles.
  • Ensure high quality and current resources, teaching materials and assessments are used in teaching and learning activities
  • Enhance the student experience to improve engagement early on and assist learners to interact with their academic and social environment to prevent attrition and encourage success
  • Improve the quality of teaching and learning through a student based approach and adaptive curriculum
  • Engage with employers and industry representatives to ensure teaching materials and content meet industry and employer needs and are current
  • Adapt teaching materials to meet industry needs and specific tailored programs and projects
  • Ensure high quality, up to date and relevant teaching delivery, assessment and student engagement strategies to support learner success and contribute to the achievement of Chisholm shared goals


 ABOUT YOU

You will have relevant;

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) Or we can assist you to obtain the qualification
  • Vocational qualifications at AQF level based on level of teaching required  
  • Vocational currency as demonstrated through a range of work and related experience 
  • Registration with relevant professional association/s (as required for the specific discipline)
  • Possess an A Grade Electrical Workers License or a Switchgear Workers License qualification and demonstrate competency against the Australian Electrical Standards plus a minimum of 5 years trade experience.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead across all year levels of the program.

Crucial to your success will a strong understanding of contemporary approaches education, teaching and learning. A proven track record in design and delivery of up to-date and engaging programs in conjunction with the ability to motivate and guide students to optimise their learning outcomes. You will have the ability to quickly develop rapport with students and colleagues from a diverse background in a collaborative and innovative environment. As well as have a firm understanding of educational administration tools and practices.

To succeed in this role you will need to be able to adapt to changing circumstances while displaying exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You will be result orientated and committed to professional development. A strong commercial focus by driving revenue growth in the fee for service arena is also essential.
