About the business

The Royal Life Saving Society WA is one of Australia's leading first aid and aquatic safety educator. We're a non-profit, community service organisation that conducts training programs in First Aid, Resuscitation, Bronze Medallion, Lifesaving, Water Safety and Pool Operations. Our training courses are conducted in the Perth and many other locations in Western Australia. 

About the role

We are seeking a full-time Training and Resource Developer to manage our first aid and lifeguarding courses. This includes providing all aspects of academic quality; pedagogy, development and alignment of the program learning outcomes, learning activities and assessment design. 

Scope of duties will include but not limited to: 

  • Develop, implement and maintain the training delivery and assessment resources to meet training package requirements and student/industry needs 

  • Liaise with the relevant industries and RLSSA national office to ensure learning programs are meeting the required standards 

  • Develop and implement innovative face to face, workplace and online training strategies 

  • Ensure that high standards of teaching and learning are maintained 

  • Identify potential improvements to teaching, learning and assessment

Skills and experience

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment 

  • Extensive knowledge of the VET industry, compliance requirements and resource development 

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously 

  • Demonstrated experience in engaging constructively with industry groups, employers and student to achieve team outcomes 

  • Proven track record of developing training delivery and assessment resources using face to face, workplace and online training strategies  

  • Proven ability to collaborate and consult to obtain relevant information from industry groups and employers 

  • Knowledge and experience in the sport and recreation, or health industry is highly desirable, however not critical 

  • Knowledge of Moodle and VETtrak is highly desirable, however not critical
