UNSW is located 5 km from the centre of Sydney and is close to other research centres, teaching hospitals, transport, shopping, and beaches

About the role

  • Salary $103K-$144K depending on qualifications and experience (plus 17% superannuation and leave loading).
  • The position is full time with provision for conversion to continuing after five years, subject to satisfactory performance (approximately equivalent to North American Assistant/Associate Professor tenure-track appointment). Preferred starting date is early 2019 (negotiable).

The School of Psychology is seeking to make up to two academic appointments in psychology at the level of lecturer or senior lecturer (levels B or C). The successful applicants will carry out independent research, teach courses and supervise research projects in the School's undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

These positions are designed to augment and complement the School’s existing strengths in cognitive, clinical, forensic, social, and developmental psychology, perception and neuroscience. For one role, preference may be given to applicants who could contribute to research and teaching in language or psycholinguistics, but we welcome applicants from any area of psychology.

About the successful applicant

To be successful in this role you will:

  • A significant record of research achievement in an area of psychology, relative to opportunity.
  • A demonstrated potential to attract research funding.
  • A demonstrated capacity for high-quality teaching and supervision at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
  • A PhD in Psychology or a cognate discipline.
