A unique opportunity is available for a researcher with interests in psychology, neurosciences and autism to undertake research as part of the Victorian Collaborative AuTism Study (CATS), located at the Melbourne Brain Centre in Heidelberg. This exciting study involves clinical and genetic research into Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with the Research Fellow expected to undertake a high degree of interaction with patients and their families to gather and analyse data to identify novel findings.

The Research Fellow is a key coordinator of the Study, and is expected to:

• Be responsible for the day-to-day management of their own projects with minimal supervision, requiring a high degree of responsibility, self-motivation and organisation, and
• Disseminate research findings via publication in high-impact journals and presentation at relevant conferences and seminars.

This position is part of a larger, highly cohesive ASD research team.

We are seeking a strong researcher looking to advance their career in clinical research in psychology and/or neurosciences. You will be a motivated researcher or clinician-researcher with initiative, excellent patient and academic engagement skills and a track record in research including publication and presentation experience. The Melbourne Brain Centre is a world-renowned research facility, home to several high-achieving research groups including that led by Professor Ingrid Scheffer, Melbourne Laureate Professor and a leading international authority on paediatric neurology who is a Chief Investigator on the Study. This position is a University of Melbourne academic position based in the Centre, bringing with it many benefits of being part of the most highly-ranked University in the country including access to world-class research facilities, electronic research resources and highly productive and collaborative networks.

This position is primarily located at the Melbourne Brain Centre in Heidelberg however regular visits to The Geelong Hospital may be required.
