The Kelvin Grove State College P&C Association has a vacancy for an Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Coordinator
The Outside School Hours Care Coordinator will report directly to the P&C Executive Team, via the P&C Business Operations Manager (BOM), and be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Kelvin Grove State College Outside of School Hours Care/Vacation care services (OSHC).
Task description:
- Provide leadership and operational support to a team of motivated educators;
- Responsible for well-managed and commercially viable operations;
- Develop exciting and stimulating activities for children
- Liaise with the families, school leaders and build strong relationships
- Create a welcoming environment and positive workplace
- Accurate and timely financial, operational and data reporting;
- Ensure operational needs of the service are met through effective forward planning.
Position requirements:
- Completed or be on your way to completing a Diploma in Children's Services or Bachelor of Education or equivalent.
- Demonstrated supervisory and/or managerial experience in an outside school hours care service
- Demonstrated knowledge of Government regulations impacting on outside school hours care operations
- Demonstrated computer skills in childcare management systems (preferably QikKids)
- Hold a current Working with Children’s Check (Blue Card) or eligible to apply
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to positively, proactively and regularly engage with staff, families and students
- Effective business, budget planning and management skills
- Ability to demonstrate a student-centred approach to leisure based education
- Current First Aid Certificate, Level 2 First Aid, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Management Training, or willing to obtain is desirable.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to students from a range of different groups, experiences and backgrounds
- An open and friendly disposition
Hours of employment:
- The position will be full-time permanent,
- some flexibility with hours exists but will be based around the OSHC operating hours
- Monday – Friday, before School Care 7am - 9am, after School Care 3pm - 6pm
- Vacation Care 8am-6pm
- some flexibility with hours exists but will be based around the OSHC operating hours
- You will be required to work on school holidays.
- Actual hours of employment will be negotiated with successful applicant
