Nicki's Clever Cookies is a small privately owned early childhood service located in Northcote just metres from Westgarth station.
 

We require a passionate and knowledgeable  Diploma trained Educator for our Nursery/ toddler room.
We can provide supportive management, flexible hours, a positive work environment, PD opportunities, and above regulation ratios.
You will be joining an enthusiastic and cohesive team of Educators that are motivated  for quality improvement and change.

Being an owner-operated center, there are limited restrictions in you achieving your goals. You will be able to have a collaborative partnership with the owner, who does not impose restrictions when it comes to quality focus.

Requirements:

• Completed Diploma in Early Childhood Services.
• Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework and EYLF with proven results. 
• A dynamic personality, creativity and a clear passion for early childhood education.
• Ability to think "outside the square".
• Love of music and singing as this is a large part of our Curriculum.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A cooperative team player who loves and respects children in all their individuality and developmental stages
• Commitment to excellence in early childhood.
• Ability to create positive relationships with team members, children and their families.
• Ability to demonstrate and approach tasks in a professional and proactive manner, using initiative and flexibility. 
• Demonstrate great time management and organisational skills
• Work collaboratively with other team members on a range of projects unique to this service.
• Communicate positively and openly with children on an ongoing basis.
• Create a stimulating, positive and appropriate environment to foster and support development.

Essential Criteria;

• Ability to document children's learning.
• Previous experience as room leader- preferably in Nursery or toddler room

Demonstrated understanding of:

• National Quality Standards (NQS)
• Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
• Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting 
• Work Safe Practices

Also:

• knowledge/understanding of the stages of physical, emotional, cognitive, social and cultural development of children.
• the capability to engage children through activities and experiences appropriate for age groups / stages of development.
• knowledge of health, hygiene and the nutrition needs of children.
• the ability to communicate effectively with children, families and staff.
