Our client, a niche manufacturer of aviation refuelling equipment are a key player in both the Australian and international markets. They require a Process Improvement Officer to join their team in the Western suburbs of Melbourne on a three-month contract.

Description
This role requires a review of all production system data and processes inclusive Bill Of Materials (BOM) generation and its interface with the business ERP. On review, suggestions of improvement and implementation, to ensure accuracy of data management process, continual improvement and maximised productivity efficiencies.
You will be well-versed in operational procedures and ways to optimise them. You will work closely with internal departments to gain a thorough understanding of current processes and work instructions, in order to be able to assist with implementing improvements. You will be organised and results-driven with great problem solving skills. You will display excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will have an advanced Technical understanding, enabling the interpretation of technical drawings and specifications. You will possess advanced Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
The goal is to review and improve on existing processes- implementing measures and streamlining processes to ensure maximised productivity efficiencies and adherence to deliverables.
Responsibilities
Review operational workflow for all areas
Interpret technical drawings and diagrams to ensure process support for operations
Develop new processes enabling the smooth and efficient upload of BOM data into business ERP system
Collaborate with internal departments- production, sales, purchasing, engineering, quality control, stores and finance
Maintenance of ERP system, BOM and internal processes
Profile
Advanced Excel skills
Advanced understand and ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Proven experience in Process Improvement (Production Scheduling, IT and CI Systems positions highly regarded)
A knowledge of operational procedures (Manufacturing environment- cell based process preferred), BOM creation/management and ERP (including Purchasing) functions
Experience in MRP II (Manufacturing resource planning)
Advanced knowledge of MS Office, specifically Microsoft Excel
Good at math and statistics - reporting, data analysis and presentation
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication abilities
