About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Reliability Engineer, the principle function of this role is to ensure that all parts (stock or non-stock) required for planned maintenance, breakdowns and capital are available on time at an appropriate cost. This also includes controlling the operation of the maintenance stores and identifying and implementing improvements where necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaising closely with maintenance to ensure all parts are available as required
- Maintaining engineering records of stock movements to ensure that inventory is accurate and that there is no lost production due to ‘out of stock’.
- Running materials requirement planning (MRP) every day and creating purchase orders as per Asahi purchasing policy.
- Ensure that engineering parts are purchased from approved vendors as per the Asahi purchasing policy.
- Develop and manage Store Lay-out to ensure efficient use of space and ease of parts retrieval.
- Create new SAP stock items in the store as per business requests and for new equipment.
- Ensure all policies regarding Engineering supplies are administered
- Management of Chemical Stores
About You
- Qualification/experience in purchasing and inventory/stores preferably in engineering environment
- Understanding of engineering operations activities and materials handling equipment
- Ability to build customer relationships
- Prior experience using SAP or similar ERP system
- Ability to identify process improvement opportunities
- Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills
