This privately-owned company is seeking a highly capable and experienced General Manger Operations. Reporting to the CEO, you will be accountable for the total running of the manufacturing facility. You will be a strong leader and a key member of the executive team, entrusted to deliver on the strategic and operational objectives of the company.
We manufacture Pharma and Food products for many large consumer goods companies, with products sold in both Australia and overseas. Additionally, the business is currently developing its own brands with a strong focus on the China market. We are renowned for service excellence, high performance and innovation, with customer and consumer centricity at the heart of everything we do. We have a very positive and collaborative culture that recognises the importance of our people and the value of teamwork.
We are experiencing significant growth across the business so there is a need to ensure the manufacturing facility can support this growth through improved processes, enhanced operating efficiency and continuous improvement in the areas of production, engineering, quality, procurement, customer service, warehousing and logistics.
In managing the operations of the Company several types of decisions will need to be made related to operations strategy, process design, product design, quality management, capacity, production planning, inventory control, factory layout, automation and equipment purchasing. Each of these will require an ability to analyse the current situation and find better solutions to improve productivity and efficiency.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience at a similar level in a manufacturing organisation, demonstrable competency in strategic and operations planning and business development, a working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics, outstanding organizational, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
