An opportunity exists in our Piping and Mechanical department for a skilled and experienced Supervisor to join the team on a full time, permanent basis at our Henderson headquarters.
The overall purpose of the position is to ensure productivity is maximised through effective people management, planning and scheduling.
Core duties will include:
- Collaborating with Coordinators to establish a weekly plan. Plan will include key deliverables (information, materials, resources, HSEQ)
- Conduct informative pre-starts/tool box talks
- Provide on the job training and development relevant to role
- Set the task and discuss a reasonable time frame for the job
- Provide visible leadership to support a ‘safety first’ culture by ensuring that risks are assessed
- Monitor the tasks and provide constructive feedback on performance
- Act on improvement opportunities raised, share ideas and successes.
To be considered suitable for this role you will have:
- Trade Qualification and leadership experience in this environment
- You lead by example, and promote a safe and healthy work environment in your teams
- Your well-developed leadership skills, along with your highly effective team building capabilities will assist you in the role
- You have a key understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Legislation & Quality Assurance requirements
- Will ensure the fundamentals of supervision are performed daily
- You can develop capability and competency in the workforce
- You will participate in the development and review of construction strategies through your experience and demonstrated capabilities
- Ideally, you will have experience in shipbuilding or ship repair, or with similar structures
- You have the ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings
- You will have full Australian working rights and reliable transport
- Your communication skills are well-developed, as are your problem solving skills and flexibility.
