The Role

Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will provide direction and leadership for the Distribution Centre Operations Team, actively liaise with GPC Asia Pacific Key Appointments and Team Members to ensure KPI and contract obligations are being met and exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

Will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Oversee the allocation of tasks to Team Members and ensure that all operational functional tasks are completed to the standard required by GPC Asia Pacific.
  • To abide by and ensure team members abide by the GPC Asia Pacific policies.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies or potential problems, develop and implement strategies for the resolution of problems whilst maintaining effective performance and productivity.
  • Resource allocation, labour and equipment, is effectively and efficiently utilised.
  • Deliver Customer Service and agreed KPI standards.
  • Budget management and maintenance with active involvement and input
  • Ensuring the safety management system is applied to address the OH&S needs of all team members, contractors, visitors and plant.
  • Deliver culture development program through Reach and GPC Asia Pacific Values.
  • Requirement to work in all areas of the DC including internal and external.
  • People Management/leadership responsibilities

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Logistics or Management or significant relevant expereince
  • Proven experience in warehouse and logistical operations
  • Knowledge and experience of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) development and management
  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office especially Excel
  • Good understanding of warehouse tracking and operational software packages
  • Ability to prioritise, manage and delgate tasks
  • Abiity to  conceptualise operational processes and flows and recommended cost reduction and service level improvements.
  • Experience in managing a large workforce.
  • Ability to develop and manage cultural and safety development programs
