Foods in metal packaging do not lose their nutritional value and keep their original taste for long periods. Metal packaging is surprisingly light and its resistance to physical shock is high, so it offers a low cost of storing, loading and shipping.

 

Our client is a market leader in virtually all forms of modern consumer and industrial packaging. With a massive array of product types, long experience of design and manufacture in all materials, they have built a powerful reputation as innovators and astute business operators.

 

This position reports to the National Manager - Steel and is responsible for leading the efficient and effective daily operations of the National Steel Supply Chain, specifically Decoration Management - managing the day to day print requirement and order placement for all customers; Material Requirements Planning (SAP MRP) - monitoring long term demand and capacity trends; Production Planning - managing new product introduction and phase-out across all materials; Purchasing, Inventory and Freight Management.

 

Your objectives at all times will be to provide Delivery-In-Full and On-Time in all parts of the business, minimise costs and optimise inventory across the supply chain. You will also be expected to identify and implement strategic change initiatives across the Supply Chain.   

 

Analysis, review, strategic vision and detail are the key drivers of this important role. You will have tertiary qualifications in supply chain management or be APICS certified, together solid supply planning experience, preferably in the FMCG industry

 

Very strong planning and inventory management skills are essential, as are technical understanding of MPS and MRP, the ability to drive change and implement a uniform planning process across sites. You will also need well-developed project management skills, ideally gained in a changing or evolving environment. Excel and SAP skills are essential
