A Raptis and Sons Pty Ltd is one of the largest privately owned seafood catchers, processors, wholesalers and exporters. We are a vertically integrated business with fishing vessels operating in the Gulf of Carpentaria and Great Australian Bight; and product acquisition depots in Northern Australia.
We are seeking a motivated and organized person to take control of our freezer operations and depot management
Based in the iconic Sydney Fish Market, you will be highly organized, have an eye for detail and be a great team leader who enjoys setting a high standard in a "hands on" environment.
As the team leader, your main responsibilities and duties will include:
- Managing a team of 5 to ensure effective and efficient coverage of all tasks
- Order packing - accuracy, speed of delivery & dispatch
- Freezer stock management and rotation
- OH&S/WHS policies and general warehouse processes
- Liaising with transportation suppliers and customer drivers
- Warehouse Receivables including quality checks and product grading
- Receiving stock including associated daily paperwork
- Monthly full manual stock take and variance investigation
Your experience, skill set and qualifications will include:
- Self-starter who is able to work unsupervised to a high standard
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure, prioritize and multitask
- Experience in similar role ideally in food industry
- Must have a current drivers licence
- Have or willingness to obtain a forklift licence
- Ability to interact with customers regarding their delivery is essential
General information about the role:
- We start early! 3.30-4.00am until approx. midday
- Monday to Friday only
- Based in the Sydney Fish Market – Pyrmont
- Salary based on skills and experience
- Car park card provided
- Position available for immediate start
