Mechanical Design Engineer role, Western Sydney, Mon - Fri 8:30 - 17:00.
Your new company
Our client is a leading provider of high performance hardware and is dedicated to the design and manufacture of top-quality, state-of the-art gate hardware products. The position of Design Engineer serves a critical role in supporting the company in the areas of Innovation, Advanced Engineering & Materials, and Quality & Value Added Services.
Your new role
Responsibilities include:
- Verification of design and compliance of new and updated products for general sale, design of custom products to meet individual customer requirements
- Work in accordance with legal and statutory requirements, company policies and procedures
- Assist in research and development activities in a timely, cost-effective and auditable manner
- Arrange and perform design verification and validation testing
- Take part in testing to ensure that the design output meet requirements
- Drafting of technical documentation including manufacturing and quality assurance drawings assemblies and components in addition to other clerical and document control activities
- Liaison with other members of design teams to ensure that design outputs meet the requirements of all interested parties
- Analyses research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of design
- Plans, develops and carries out experimental test programs to ensure design meets final product specifications.
- Analyse test data and technical reports to determine if a new design or a current product meets functional and performance specifications
- Uses computer aided engineering and design software and equipment to perform drafting and design tasks
- Creates and implements test procedures for R&D quality evaluations of all new and existing products as required
- Participates in the Performance Management process
- Participate in the day to day operational administration of the department
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a Mechanical Engineering background and have 3-5 years’ experience in Design Engineering and have outstanding attention to detail. This role requires an experienced mechanical expert from the manufacturing industry with a thorough understanding and working knowledge of SolidWorks and CAD software.
You will be degree qualified - Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Excellent computer and communication are key to succeed in this position. Knowledge of polymer design requirements and limitations are highly desirable.
What you'll get in return
This is a temporary role with the opportunity to transition to permanent after 6 months. You will be rewarded with a highly competitive rate in comparison to the market rate. You will be working Monday - Friday, approximately 40hrs a week.
