A fantastic opportunity exists for an estimator, with previous exposure to bid /tender submissions within a manufacturing environment, to join WA's leading signage company, Jason Signmakers.
Our portfolio of government (including shires and main roads), mining, construction and commercial clients is driven by Tender and Request for Quote (RFQ) activity. Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager, this role will play a key part in estimating projects and bid submissions by understanding detailed scope of works and translating technical drawings to generate meaningful cost estimates.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include
- Identifying tender opportunities and maintaining the tenders list
- Attend site meetings associated with tenders to identify concerns with the scope and seek responses to technical questions
- Work with sales and operations to create the estimates that will be used in price submissions
- Provide reporting and feedback on tender win rates
- Develop and maintain tools to assist sales with quoting and improving the estimating capability
To be considered for this role you should
- hold a qualification in the fields of building estimating, engineering drafting, diploma in Civil Engineering or similar
- have attention to detail the ability to read technical specifications and understand scope of works
- have excellent excel skills
Skills which will benefit the candidate include
- have previous experience in estimating
- have previous exposure to a manufacturing environment
- understand, and have worked with quality management and safety systems to understand how they impact on cost
- be proficient in maintenance planning and project management software
- a knowledge of different signage materials and manufacturing methods will be highly advantageous
