Trading for over 15 years, they have developed a reputation of supplying quality products, along with exceptional service and ongoing customer support. Consisting of multiple distribution centres nationally, they also boast a long customer list of top tier Customers. 2018 has seen this organisation go through their largest expansion phase in history and as Purchasing Officer, you will play a fundamental role in facilitating further growth.


Role

Expect to work with a young, vibrant and highly energetic team who crave continuous product updates. You will report directly to the Procurement Manager and will work closely with the customer service and sales team along with key stakeholders, suppliers and freight companies to ensure the smooth running of the business and supply chain.


Other responsibilities include:

  • Daily scheduling and placing of orders, and follow up where necessary
  • Ensure products are received on time and in full
  • Maintain and improve supplier lead times
  • Maintain and consistently update product, freight and supplier information
  • Use your initiative to make recommendations on cost saving and system improvements
  • Weekly reporting on back orders and stock levels

You build effective relationships with internal teams and external customers by demonstrating enthusiasm and passion for the work being done and the company you represent. 

Known for being highly organised you can handle multiple tasks concurrently and communicate in a clear and concise manner.

  • You are assertive with excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel and MYOB
