Ground Operations and Training Coordinator
Nauru Airlines is the national carrier of the Republic of Nauru, operating passenger and freight services to and from the Central Pacific. Operating a fleet of 737-300 aircraft, Nauru Airlines's hub is in Nauru with the operational head office in the Brisbane CBD. Nauru Airlines operates under the Australian Civil Aviation Legislation.
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Ground Operations and Training Coordinator to join the Ground Operations team in Brisbane. This is a shift work position reporting to the Senior Ground Operations and Training Coordinator.
The Ground Operations and Training Coordinator (GOTC) is responsible for ensuring all Ground Handing Agents providing services to Nauru Airlines are properly trained and assessed in accordance with Nauru Airlines Policy and Procedures. In addition, the GOTC will be required to review, amend or develop written SOP’s to ensure all ground operations are performed safely, while maintaining operational integrity and Regulatory Compliance. Under the direction of your manager, you will work closely with each of the Ground Handling Agents, Operations Control Centre staff and, as required, heads of departments to monitor each flight. You will also assist with the identification and correction of operational risks IAW Nauru Airlines Safety Management System and operating procedures. Your working hours will be dependent on our schedule; you will be required to travel throughout our network to complete your responsibilities. You will come from an aviation background and have a sound knowledge of CASA regulatory requirements regarding ground handling operations and passenger services.
Your prime responsibilities will be to:-
- Ensure all ground handling activities are performed in accordance Nauru Airlines Policy and Procedures, Including the Departure Control System access and operation;
- Provide, through the Operations Control Centre, co-ordination of flight disruption activities for each port;
- Prepare, review and/or develop Standard Operation Procedures for all Ground Handling Activities. Ensure the Ground Operations Manual reflects adequate procedures to meet the Policy Objectives, and its content is suitable and current.
- Maintain communications with Nauru Airlines ports and provide advice or co-ordinate appropriate responses;
- Liaise with Operations Control Centre, Department Managers and key stakeholders in relation to advice on operational issues;
- Actively participate in the promotion of the Nauru Airlines Safety and Quality Management System
- Participate as required in the airlines emergency and contingency plans.
Skills and Qualifications
- A background in, and an understanding of airline ground handling operations including Customer Service, Ramp Service and Departure Control System (including weight and balance)
- Understanding of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority regulatory framework and legislation;
- Experience in developing/preparing SOP’s for ground handling activities
- Ability to travel on our network for oversight purposes
- An understanding of Safety and Quality Management System principles
- Be able to obtain and retain a valid Aviation Security Identity Card
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
- Customer service and ramp service experience with an international airline
- Current Cert IV in Training and Assessment
- Previous audit experience in an airline ground operations environment
