Logistics Specialist (12mths Fixed Term – Bayswater, Melbourne Based)
The Logistics team are a passionate and dynamic team who manage the distribution network in both New Zealand and Australia. Our focus is servicing our customers' expectations with high quality, compliant and on time service – while working closely with the Merck Customer Excellence, Major Accounts and Purchasing & Planning teams
Your role:
- Manage logistics transactions, including all activities for the inbound and outbound logistics coordination of the Australian and New Zealand business.
- Handle end-to-end Supply Chain optimisation
- Lead or participate different projects in Supply Chain
- Innovate in cool chain and dangerous goods logistics
Who you are:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Bachelor or Master degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or associated field. Any experience of project management or continuous improvement is advantageous
- Command strong computer skills – a fast learner of cutting-edge technologies, any experience with ERP systems, such as iScala and SAP is advantageous.
- Be a quick learner in a fast-paced team environment. You will be expected to work independently on assignments in your first week.
- Be innovative to deliver results in a changing and challenging environment. Must be able to mix seriousness and hard work with a capacity for enjoying the humorous aspects of things
- Be open for dynamic task assignments and passionate for personal development.
- Have an ability to build relationships of trust within the team and with our internal and external partners.
