About the role:

Aurizon’s Newcastle depot is currently seeking to appoint an experienced qualified Locomotive Driver. We are looking for competent operators who can provide operational support in accordance with safety procedures. The main responsibilities for the role are:

  • Operate all forms of traction and trains competently and safely
  • Apply best practice train management techniques competently to ensure efficient and safe train operations and re-accredit as required.
  • Ensure quality customer service to meet business objectives
  • Work in accordance with relevant Enterprise Agreements and other industrial agreements relevant to the position. 

About you:

  • Certificate in Locomotive Driving (equivalent)
  • Valid C Class Driver Licence
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Able to produce clear, concise information
