Exciting Permanent Production Manager role in Melbourne's South East
Your new company
This reputable International Company has a state-of-the-art, innovative and highly automated manufacturing facility in Melbourne's South-East. Being experts in their industry for almost 50 years, this new project will open up many new opportunities in engineering and manufacturing.
Your new role
We are currently seeking an experienced Production Manager that is process and systems orientated and a great leader of people. Your new permanent position will include overseeing the day to day production and smooth running of a small workforce that produces and dispatches a high volume of products each day. You will be required to have broad based skills in areas such as productivity improvement, quality assurance, cost reduction, procurement, construction, commissioning and a practical understanding of Maintenance methods.
Reporting to the Executive Director, you will be directly responsible for the Operational start-up of the facility. You will be required to lead continuous improvement with overall management responsibility for production and quality control. As well as assisting with budgeting and scheduling for the operational elements of the project, you will be required to prepare all SOPs and systems required for the start-up and running of the new facility.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in a Production Manager role or Senior Supervisory position - Min 5 years
- B.Sc in Medical or Pharmaceuticals or related qualifications
- Oral Solid Dose Pharmaceutical experience favourable
- Understanding of TGA, PIC/S & GMP
- R&D and Drug Development Report Review experience
- Knowledge of Lean / 6 Sigma / 5S / Kanban
- Strong mechanical / machinery background in Pharmaceutical industry
- Experience with automated machinery highly desirable
- Strong leadership and team building skills
- Proven ability to manage production facility and projects to deliver on time and within budget
- Detailed understanding of the principles and tools of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
- Ability to develop, nurture and maintain successful working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including international partners and clients
- Highly effective communication style teamed with strong inter-personal and influencing skills
