A rare opportunity for a Quality Assurance Assistanthas arisen to work for a dynamic SME in the health food industry. Reporting to the General Manager. You will be supporting all facets of product quality with focus on company products to ensure conformity with relevant policies and procedures, Australian food regulations and advertising codes/agreements.
The successful candidate will be self-driven and responsible for but not limited to
• Coordinate and give training to warehouse dispatch and receiving.
• Respond to product complaints, trace batch records and investigate the batch. Refer to SOP.
• Update and review Australian TGA and food authority legislation monthly and implement SOPs to comply with the standards.
• Implement annual product stability and product quality reviews(PQR) as per current TGA and food authority regulations.
• Conduct annual internal audits.
• Conduct external audits of suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Conduct annual demo recall procedures and physical recall activities as per TGA and Australian consumer law guidelines.
• Conduct daily warehouse and production QC inspections and provide training to warehouse staff and machine operators.
• Liaising with customer complaints and regulatory authorities, hosting inspections by TGA, food authority and HACCP as well as customers.
• Prepare batch documents for production and reconciliation of batch documents for QA to release for supply.
• Perform regular training for relevant staff, especially new staff.
• Handle and document deviations.
• Maintain product master files.
• Other tasks include QC/QA activities, such as product inspection, raw material and product sampling and inspection, QMS documentation and auditing of GMP, HACCP and Quality programs.
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:
• Tertiary qualification in nutrition or dietetics or a related discipline
• At least two years' experience in the food industry
• Knowledge of the Food Standards Code
• Exceptional attention to details
• Confident communicator with both verbal and written proficiency to engage stakeholders and develop the best outcome for our customers and business
• Strong time management skills with the ability to be flexible and meet conflicting deadlines
• High level of motivation to work autonomously
• A team player with understanding of multi-disciplinary areas.
