Who are we?
Laurent Bakery is a European Style Bakery with two manufacturing sites and 16 retail outlets, with a reputation built on quality and innovation. The business is dynamic and continues to grow at speed.
Our Braeside facility is highly automated and state of the art, manufacturing a range of bread and bread products, supplying into retail, wholesale and a growing export market.
The role will support the efficiency and effectiveness of the production facility. The Quality Officer is responsible for maintaining databases of documents, forms and processes together with quality control systems, continuous improvement registers and other organizationally required documents and systems.
The role has strong functional links with the production of key organisational documentation and activities of the organisation.
The key responsibilities will include:
- Having a sound knowledge of company quality policy, quality objectives, quality procedures and work instructions.
- Being familiar with Legislative Requirements for the business including Food Safety, HACCP requirements.
- Coordinating quality system documentation and records.
- Communicating with General Manager and all staff regarding Quality documentation and Production records.
- Ensure all HACCP Plan verification and calibration activities are complete.
- Ensure product and environment testing program is maintained.
To be considered for this role you must have the following:
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Food Science and Technology or equivalent.
- Current HACCP training
- At least 2 years of experience working in a similar position in the food industry including quality assurance eg: taking temperature
- Be able to follow instructions
- Reading and writing of reports
