Our Quality Team is on the lookout for a highly motivated and talented Food Technician.

Our factory at Ingleburn is a leading producer of canned, tray and other pet food formats, producing much loved brands such as Nature’s Gift and Farmers Market and we have exciting international growth opportunities ahead.

Working closely with the Quality Manager and Team Leader, your main duties include:

• Conducting routine and non-routine product quality tests in keeping with ISO standards and HACCP;
• Conducting visual inspection, monitoring product colour, consistency and aesthetics;
• Performing routine laboratory procedures, such as;
  • Cleaning work area,
  • Testing product weights,
  • Vacuum and Seal integrity.

• Ensuring technical testing is conducted appropriately and/or examination & assessment of can seams, hermetic seals and thermal processing;
• Recommend for release product based on QCP & CCP tests;
• Preparation of routine and non-routine reports;
• Managing customer complaints;
• Taking appropriate & effective action when raw materials, product and/or process are out of specification or control;
• Conducting routine microbiological, biological & chemical testing in accordance with standards;
• Conducting product development tasks when required;

To be considered for this unique opportunity, you will need to be able to prove or demonstrate:

• Food Science, microbiology, chemistry, laboratory qualifications
• Food manufacturing & quality control experience ideally in thermal processing and hermetic seals
• Intermediate computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Experience with documentation control and maintenance
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Ability to work autonomously or with minimal supervision
• Ability to deliver technical information verbally and in writing
• High levels of energy, motivation and desire to succeed
• Able to work on all shifts day (commencing day shift but may be required to work afternoon or night shift if required)
• Able to work an overtime roster when required
