Wiseway Logistics is a fast growing freight forwarding company with our head office located in Sydney with other offices in major capital cities in Australia. We have provided years of logistics services including export and import services as well as transportation and warehouse solutions to our large client base. We have a fleet of 80 trucks including local, interstate, container transport.
The opportunity now arises for an experienced Transport Manager to join our head office to overlook the fleet around Australia. We are looking for someone who is hard-working and has demonstrated ability to work well under pressure.
The role entails these responsibilities:
- National wide role with focus on Sydney to Melbourne/Brisbane and Melbourne to Adelaide
- Liaise with all branches to make sure transport services and our facilities are of standards
- Provide effective management for all transport breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Coordinate with the transport team to make sure the operations smooth
- Working with the directors to implement better procedures and system
- Provide transport operations expertise, driving high levels of safety, efficiency, profitability and cost saving
- Drive our safety culture and champion opportunities to standardise and improve work practices.
- Ensure absolute compliance with chain of responsibility legislation, and other relevant legislation / standards
- Recommend an effective blend of internal and external transport to meet both customer and business needs
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following skills and experience:
- Strong transport operations / logistics knowledge with a deep understanding of OH&S transport legislation and regulations
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated and pro active
- Willing to work with a growing company
- Tertiary qualification preferred
