Protech is looking for an experienced Production Manager for a permanent opportunity based in Melbourne. Our Client specialises in the manufacturing and maintaining of railway rolling stock and holds maintenance contracts for rail infrastructure across Australia.

About the Role:

Starting ASAP, the Production Manager is responsible for leading and driving the maintenance operations to execute contracts. You will plan, develop and manage budgets whilst being responsible for leading cost-saving and maintenance initiatives, ensuring employee/labour relations, organisational development and the overall contract management.

About You:

• You have experience working in the locomotive or in the heavy industrial industry
• You have 10+ years experience leading and managing 20+ people
• You hold a Trade, Engineering or Business qualification
• You have excellent leadership, team building, communication & presentation skills
• You have demonstrated the ability to manage a production facility, delivering projects on time & within budget
• You have demonstrated the application of LEAN methodologies within a production or maintenance environment
• You have the ability to make critical and timely decisions in difficult situations
• You have an exceptional focus on safe work practices and an understanding of the site EBA and IR
