Full Time Position
North Eastern Community Hospital is a fully accredited Private Hospital and Aged Care facility in Campbelltown, Adelaide. Located only 8km from the CBD, the hospital has 47 day beds, 2 theatres, 1 procedure room and serves more than 7,000 admissions and 500 births per year. The aged care facility has 84 licensed beds providing high level residential care and respite services.
An opportunity now exists for a customer focused Purchasing Officer to join the team. This is a full-time position commencing immediately and will suit a highly organised individual with great communication and negotiation skills.
Reporting to the Director of Commercial Operations, the successful applicant will oversee the supply chain function for the Hospital and Aged Care facilities, working closely with managers and suppliers to ensure an effective and consistent supply of goods and consumables.
The responsibilities and duties of the positions include:
- Purchasing, warehousing and control of all medical supplies and consumables
- Oversight of the warehouse
- Engaging with supplier representatives
- Identifying savings opportunities and supply chain efficiencies
- Liaising with clinical and department managers to meet supply needs
- Overseeing stock take and inventory control across all stock keeping units and store areas
To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Attention to detail
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge of e-procurement and supply chain principles
- Previous experience in a hospital or health care environment highly regarded
