- Lead and deliver a coordinated approach to procurement within Insurance Claims
- Brisbane based
- Flexible working arrangements e.g. work from home 1 day per week
The role exists to deliver procurement services to Insurance Claims at Suncorp LoB. This includes full lifecycle management for each relevant procurement category within Insurance Claims and involves deep supply chain, market intelligence, sourcing, negotiation, supplier development (including innovation and governance), leakage monitoring and demand/consumption management and advice.
Key Accountabilities
- Identify and collaborate with key stakeholders, internal customers and suppliers to ensure quality, cost effectiveness and efficiency in the Insurance Procurement team and the broader category management teams
- Develop, in conjunction with key stakeholders, the procurement strategy for strategic contracts within Insurance. This includes requirements gathering (both internal and external); building category/supplier strategies; cost-reduction opportunities; sourcing; contracting; resource management; project management; stakeholder management; supplier performance & governance; and risk management
- Provide specialist procurement expertise as necessary in addition to commercial rigor, advanced sourcing techniques and benchmarking
- Map and identify opportunities to improve demand management and cost culture.
- Support and encourage key stakeholders to raise the level of awareness and education across Insurance on Procurement expertise, policies and procedures to drive early engagement, compliance and improved governance. Report breaches of material non-compliance
- Collaborate with key strategic stakeholders to develop and implement Sourcing & Procurement strategic plans and negotiation strategies for key spend areas to achieve short and long-term savings targets
- Build a resilient, agile team, able to navigate complexity and create a culture of simplicity, innovation and continuous improvement
- Make informed decisions aligned with Suncorp’s strategy and Group risk policies and frameworks and industry/regulatory requirements
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary education is highly desirable, with a Procurement & Supply Chain focus or an Information Technology, Business or Commerce related degree.
- Experienced procurement professional with minimum 10 + years’ experience in procurement. (Mandatory)
- Experience in Claims Procurement with minimum 5+ years (Desired)
- Experience in managing a team 5+ years
- Experience in large organisations with complex environments
- Experience in a centralised procurement/commercial environment providing services to a broad customer base
- Experience in delivering quality outputs within tight timeframes within a standardised project management framework.
- Experience in working with others in a (preferably commercial) strategy setting role.
