About the Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for an AAO Meat Inspector at our Port Wakefield Processing Facility in South Australia. Operating as Seven Point Pork Pty Ltd, part of the JBS Group of Companies, the Port Wakefield plant is a 5 day operation (Monday to Friday) processing approx. 2,500 pigs per day.
Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Perform slaughter floor FSQA functions as directed by FSQA Manager.
- Learn and perform FSQA officer monitoring activities.
- Report to the FSQA Management any inadequacy in Plant programs or processing procedures.
- Assist the company in maintaining compliance to current Australian Standards.
Undertake other related activities as directed by Plant Management Teams.
Criteria:
- Currently endorsed AQIS Meat Inspector.
- Cert 3 in Meat Processing (Meat Safety).
- Cert 4 in Meat Processing (Meat Safety).
- Sound understanding of Food Safety and Quality Assurance principles within a pork abattoir.
- Ability to demonstrate competencies in knife skills.
- Sound verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate consistently positive work attributes within current working environment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating organisational and time management skills
- Must have full Australian work rights
- Be prepared to undertake a Pre-Employment Health Assessment, including a Drug & Alcohol screen
