An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Factory Production Manager for our Dandenong, Scrap recycling facility with a mechanical aptitude and a “can-do attitude.”  

The position is responsible for the following key activities:

• Manage production schedules to ensure efficient use of resources
• Drive production targets and optimize production efficiencies
• Participate in waste reduction
• Troubleshooting
• Contribute to continuous improvement, quality & safety
• Supervise a team of staff

This is a hands-on position, requiring the ideal candidate to be able to operate the equipment as well as getting the best out of their staff.  You would need to be able to operate forklift’s, overhead crane, load/unload trucks and containers when required.  There is a small team working two shifts five days, the right person will need to ensure the plant is working at optimum levels ensuring staff are well trained.

To be successful for this role you must have the following skills

• Forklift License
• Previous similar experience in a manufacturing environment
• Preferably have a trade background
• Current drivers licence
• Mechanically minded
• Must have strong problem-solving skills
• Use Hand tools
• Self-driven and self-starter and the ability to work autonomously
• Deliver the highest quality & productivity without compromising safety.
• Computer skills
• Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident – Full Work Rights
