My client, a leading Government agency has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join their talented team. Recognised as a trusted team member to the business, the Senior Procurement officer will assist with strengthening the relationship between the stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment and provide governance and oversight over procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide governance and oversight through Project Steering Committees
• Review request for exemptions from procurement policy and request for strategy approval and contract awards
• Ensure the entities align with the departments procurement strategy, policy & guidelines 
• Provide recommendation to CPO to approve or reject exemptions, sourcing strategies and contract award
• Provide commercial procurement advisory and support services to stakeholders as required
• Communicate with other Relationship Managers within the team to identify synergies within the procurement pipeline
• Negotiate with and influence stakeholders to drive a common outcome across the agency
• Translate technical and complex information concisely for diverse audiences
• Influence stakeholders to drive Entities to a common goal
• Respond in a timely and professional manner to requests from Entities

Key Requirements:

• Procurement experience in the Health industry is an advantage
• Strong negotiation skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Tertiary qualified
• Proficient in use of MS Office 
• Be broad-minded with a positive attitude
