The Role
Working closely with various business entities across the Cluster of this state govt department, the Procurement Specialist plays a critical role ensuring strategic alignment, providing governance and oversight over procurement activities across the cluster. This will be achieved by working collaboratively across a diverse range of stakeholders with a commitment to customer service.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide governance and oversight through project steering committees.
- Review procurement policy and request strategy approval and contract awards.
- Ensure alignment across all entities and procurement across strategy, policy & guidelines.
- Provide reccomendation to approve or reject exemptions.
- Provide advisory and support services to stakeholders as required.
- Bring together stakeholders, often with conflicting priorities to work towards a common goal
Main Requirements
- State government experience will be critical.
- Strong procurement experience is a must
- Experience in human services or Health would be very beneficial
- Excellent communication skills a must.
- Proven ability to work with a very diverse range of stakeholders with conflicting priorities.
