Supply Chain Manager
Based in Ballarat
Fixed Tasked Contract
The Role
In this role you will be responsible for all Alstom’s Logistical and Supply Chain activities on the site while contributing to profitability improvement in terms of inventory and Supply Chain costs. This role works closely with all key stakeholders and project managers across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Be in charge of all the logistic issues and interfaces with the support of the local team according to the overall Project strategy defined by the Project Manager.
- Communications with all Logistics Providers, (Sea-freight, Trucking, Airfreight, Customs Agents).
- Be responsible for planning and local monitoring of all aspects of logistics with the support from the on shore logistic and quality support.
- Negotiate, develop and manage processes and procedures for On time Delivery requirements with all local suppliers and some import suppliers.
- Identify and report to Project Manager any potential risk or issue that could affect performance at Project Level.
- Coordinates with on shore team and is responsible for return process of any NCR from logistic warranty claim.
- Manage and maintain a materials return system to track and monitor all outbound and inbound warranty and repair shipments for all suppliers (local and overseas).
- Supports the commercial manager for any claim issued by subcontractors related to logistics.
- Fully support and embrace all safety activities on the site and take responsibility for the effective management of all safety elements related to the Logistics Workspace.
To be successful it would be desirable to have:
- A Qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is highly desirable
- 5-10 years’ experience in a Project Management or Supply Chain Management Environment
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in working on large international projects, with a focus point on Customer and Supplier relationship.
- Financial Management knowledge in the context of a modern Supply Chain Principles is essential.
- Previous experience working in a large manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
