About this opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager - Packaging, the Purchasing Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Packaging business Division, through sourcing, negotiating and delivering exceptional quality and purpose specific products for our clients. In addition the Purchasing Manager will take the lead with providing strategic direction in purchasing across the Group, developing systems and processes and delivering education to assist the business to realise purchasing efficiencies.
As a Senior Manager in the business, occupying a position that will make a genuine impact to the way we do business, you will be firmly positioned for future growth within the Packaging function and with the Group.
Key Duties
- Provide packaging products sourcing and cost analyses, to support all sales and commercial strategies and activities of the Division.
- Management of the Group's procurement function, for all company Divisions, including generating and delivering a seamless system for cost efficient sourcing and purchasing required goods and services, as needed
- Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships, to support the purchasing strategy for the Group, including vendor qualification and identifying new suppliers
- Manage and maintain stock control, to ensure that right goods are available at the right time.
- Ensure that all products comply with Australian standards/ Industry certifications, updating and maintaining inventory schedules.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in supply chain or a financial discipline will be highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience in purchasing and/or supply of packaging products is essential
- Proven experience leading people, coaching and mentoring as a subject matter expert.
- Strong commercial acumen, with a commitment to efficiency and continuous improvement
- Exceptional MS Office skills, especially with Word and Excel.
- Experience with Oracle software is preferred but not essential.
- C-class drivers’ licence
